China spreadsheet USA: jackets

Puffers, shells, and varsity jackets: 251 of them, sold on Weidian and Taobao, each with a buy link for Kakobuy, Litbuy, Oopbuy, or USFans and QC photos where buyers have shared them. In a US order the jacket is usually the item that sets the shipping cost, so decide on vacuum packing before you submit the package. In the photos, look at the hardware, the fill and the measurements — not the size on the tag.

Reading the QC photos of jackets

When an item reaches your agent's warehouse in China, the agent photographs it. A return or an exchange is still simple at that point; once the package is on its way to the US, it rarely is. What QC means

  • Zippers and snaps

Pulls, snaps and toggles say more about a jacket's finish than the fabric does. Look for clean lettering on the zipper pulls and snaps that line up.

  • Even fill

On a puffer, every baffle should look about equally full, with no flat or empty spots. Expect it to look thinner lying on a table than it will on you.

  • Patches and embroidery

Compare where the patch or logo sits with a retail photo. Embroidery should be dense, with no gaps where the backing shows through.

  • Chest and length in inches

Ask for pit-to-pit and back length. Agents usually measure in centimeters; divide by 2.54 and compare with a jacket that already fits you.

Shipping jackets to the US

A jacket is usually the heaviest, bulkiest thing in a haul, and weight and volume are what you pay for on the flight to the US. Vacuum sealing and dropping hangers and retail bags can bring the volumetric weight down; ask your agent what it offers before you submit. A heavy, high-value package can also cost more at the border, since China shipments lost the $800 de minimis exemption in 2025. US customs for packages from China

FAQ

Jackets: common questions

Will vacuum packing ruin a puffer?

No. Down and synthetic insulation spring back once unpacked; give the jacket some time on a hanger. Vacuum packing is routine and usually cuts the volume you are billed for.

I wear a US medium. Which size do I order?

Don't go by the letter. Chinese tag sizes often run smaller than US sizing, so the tag that fits a US medium may read L or XL. Lay the listed chest and length next to a jacket you own instead.

Why does the same jacket cost different amounts at each agent?

The seller charges one price. Every agent turns it into dollars at an exchange rate of its choosing and charges a fee on top. The figure on each card here is what the seller asks, in USD.
