China spreadsheet USA: sweaters

96 sweaters and other knitwear sold on Weidian and Taobao, with links for Kakobuy, Litbuy, Oopbuy, and USFans and QC photos where buyers have shared them. Knitwear is all texture and color, and warehouse lighting is hard on both. Zoom into the photos, and when the exact shade counts, request a daylight picture before the sweater ships to the US.

Reading the QC photos of sweaters

When an item reaches your agent's warehouse in China, the agent photographs it. A return or an exchange is still simple at that point; once the package is on its way to the US, it rarely is. What QC means

  • Pattern at the seams

Stripes, cables and jacquards should meet cleanly where the sleeve joins the body and run evenly across the front.

  • True color

Grays, creams and navy shift most under indoor lights. A shot near a window, or beside something white, shows the real shade.

  • Cuffs and underarms

Loose ends, snags and early pilling show up here first, so look here before anywhere else.

  • Stretch and size

Knits give, so the tag says little. Compare chest width and length in inches with a sweater you already own.

Shipping sweaters to the US

A sweater weighs little but takes up room, and lines to the US charge by volumetric weight whenever it is higher than the real weight. Knits compress well, so they work as filler around heavier pieces like jackets or sneakers in the same package. US customs for packages from China

FAQ

Sweaters: common questions

Are these sweaters wool, cotton or acrylic?

It varies, and many listings don't say. If the fiber matters, for warmth or an allergy, have your agent ask the seller before you check out.

Can I trust the colors in QC photos?

Only roughly. Indoor warehouse lights tend to warm or flatten colors. If the exact shade matters, request one extra photo in daylight.

How do I wash a knit sweater so it doesn't shrink?

Cold water, a gentle cycle or hand wash, and dry it flat rather than in the dryer. Wool blends are the most likely to shrink, so follow the care label.
